Looking Forward to 2021

What a year 2020 has been to say for the very least. Since the cancellation of the 2020 AQHA Convention there have been many people at work behind the scenes trying to make the most of being quarantined while they miss out on many events that they were looking forward to this year.

One of those groups is your AQHA Affiliate Advisory Board. They are happy to assist you and your affiliate, as am I. You can reach your regional representative by email by clicking on their name listed on the left. I am always available to you via email or my direct line 806-378-4712.

The Affiliate Advisory Board has been having conference calls since March and from their efforts and hard work, we are excited to announce that their recommendation to the AQHA Executive Committee was approved to conduct an affiliate workshop!

It will be held during the 2021 AQHA Convention and will be called Affiliates in Motion Rally. The details regarding dates, topics and speakers for the AIM Rally will be announced in the next few weeks and months, but we wanted to share the exciting news with all of you!

Reminders & Dates

  • Last week you received emails regarding the Most Valuable Professional Nominations. Please be sure to email your nomination by the September 15 deadline as the next Professional Horseman of the Year could be from your state.
  • As you have heard, the 2020 AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan), as well as the AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals will be held during the 2020 AQHA World Championship Show at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. With the qualifying waived, this could potentially be the largest world show in history. The online entry forms will be made available in September, with entries being due October 1.
  • After the horse population report is completed on September 30, affiliates will be contacted regarding the director allocation and vacancies to be filled during the 2021 AQHA Convention in San Antonio.
  • If you have not already used your affiliate email blast for 2020, please do not miss the opportunity to do so. Email your information to Shelly Spears at sspears@aqha.org. It is a great marketing tool.
