Only shows listed under the Schedule of Events are NCQHA approved shows with NCQHA points awarded.     Other Information
    Article XII - Awards
Section 1. In order to qualify for an award, horses must compete in classes approved by NCQHA and AQHA. Owners must be member of NCQHA and AQHA. Points towards year-end awards are counted from date of membership. Youth and Amateur competitors must also belong to the respective national organizations.

Section 2. Horses must be shown in a minimum of five (5) AQHA-NCQHA approved shows and have accumulated a minimum of 15 NCQHA points to be counted toward any award. Weanlings will be required to show a minimum of two (2) approved shows and accumulate a minimum of seven (7) NCQHA points.

Section 3. Points will be awarded according to the NCQHA Point System as show in Article XII, Section 11.

Section 4. The NCQHA Points Secretary will record and total the points won by eligible horse as official show results are received from each approved show.

Section 5. The top five horses in each event will be listed monthly in the NCQHA Newsletter and web site.

Section 6. The Open All Around award will be presented to the horse in the Open Division which has earned more points than any other horse in the State and has met the following requirements: Earned a minimum of ten (10) halter points and a minimum of ten (10) points in each of two performance categories and won at least half of it’s total points in performance events.

Section 7. Many shows offer Junior and Senior Divisions in Performance events, while some offer All Age classes only. NCQHA records will list points on all horses according to the age group they compete in. Points won by these same horses in the all age classes will be added to the points they have won in their respective Junior or Senior age groups. Should either the Junior or Senior age group not qualify for an award, then all points won by a horse in his age group shall be credited to him in the All Age Category and the Junior and Senior Categories eliminated.

Section 8. Youth Activity All Around Awards: To be compiled on the one horse, one rider basis. There will be two (2) such awards (a) Senior, 14-18 years of aged and (b) Junior, 13 years of younger. To qualify, a horse must win a minimum of ten (10) points in each of two performance categories and win at least half of it’s total points in performance events. A contestant may exhibit more than one horse; however, points by the Youth with each horse will be compiled separately.

Section 9. Youth Activity classes will receive points on the same basis as horses shown in adult divisions.

Section 10. Amateur Activity All Around Awards: To be compiled on the one horse, one amateur basis. An Amateur and his/her horse must earn a minimum of ten (10) Halter points and a minimum of ten (10) points in each of two performance categories and win at least half of it’s total points in performance events. A contestant may exhibit more than one horse; however, points earned by an Amateur with each horse will be compiled separately. The contestant having met the above requirements and earning the largest total points with one horse shall be awarded the All Around Amateur award.

Section 11. Points will be awarded to qualifying horses…horses that are registered with the NCQHA, NCQHYA, and AQHA which have been shown in approved North Carolina Shows on the following basis.
