ANNUAL AQHYA YOUTH EXCELLENCE SEMINAR (Y.E.S.)

2011 Y.E.S. Participation Agreement

Participation in the Annual AQHYA Y.E.S. Convention held each summer in Amarillo, Texas is open to ALL members of NCQHYA. The Youth Association will SPONSOR four (4) delegates and up to two (2) alternates for this event. In order to attend the Conference, a youth must be a minimum of fourteen (14) years of age as of January 1st of the year of attendance; fill out and sign the AQHYA Y.E.S. Convention Participation Agreement and Attire and Behavior Agreement; fill out and sign all forms required by NCQHYA including, but not limited to, Participation Agreement, Parental Consent and Medical Release Agreement; return all AQHYA and NCQHYA documentation to Youth Advisor on or before March 1st; and, most importantly, be an ACTIVE PARTICIPANT in NCQHYA. Active Participation in NCQHYA is described as follows:

1. Be a full member of AQHYA, NCQHA and NCQHYA;
2. Regularly attend youth meetings held during scheduled North Carolina approved shows. A required minimum attendance of four (4) meetings is to be met.
3. Participate in ALL fundraisers sponsored by or being run on behalf of
   NCQHYA, including, but not limited to:
   • Youth Show (1st weekend of the TTC)
   • Youth Show Sponsorship Packet Sales (requiredminimum of 5 Class Sponsorships)
   • Basket Auction during Youth Show
   • Ford Truck Ticket Sales (required minimum of 25 tickets to be sold)
   • Silent Auction during September NCQHA Futurties
   • Annual Bake Sale (Williamston - District IV Show)
4. In the event youth member is unable to obtain required class sponsorships or sell the required Ford Truck Tickets, all as set out above, member will make a DONATION of $250.00 to NCQHYA.
5. ALL Sponsorship Packets, Ford Truck Ticket stubs and/or Donation MUST be turned in to Youth Advisor on or before JUNE 1st, or such earlier date as specified by Youth Advisor and/or Youth Activities Committee.

In addition to the above, although participation in this event is open to ALL NCQHYA members, members of the Executive Committee are given first option to attend, as well as members of the Association who are campaigning for an AQHYA office or regional directorship, and the previous year's alternate(s), if any.

All candidates and alternates are selected to represent NCQHYA during Y.E.S., at the sole discretion of the Youth Activities Committee, based upon full compliance with the above rules and regulations, from all member(s) requesting to attend. NCQHYA shall, on behalf of each delegate and alternate sponsor the following:

1. Payment of Y.E.S. Registration Fees.
2. Payment of UP TO $350.00 toward airline fares. All remaining airline fares are the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of the NCQHYA member attending the Conference.
3. All hotel accommodations.
4. Such other events as Youth Activities Committee, at its sole discretion, may approve.

Any delegate or alternate selected to attend Y.E.S., who becomes, FOR ANY REASON, unable to go, at the time of the event, will be responsible for full reimbursement to NCQHYA for their registration fees, their proportionate share of hotel room accommodations made on their behalf, and the portion of their airline ticket paid by NCQHYA.
