Grace Pearce, NCQHA Select Amateur and District V Director

Meet Grace Pearce a NCQHA Select Amateur and District V Director from Pittsboro, NC. Grace originally hails from upstate New York where she got her first pony at age 8 and showed in open shows. After moving to N.C. at 14 she began showing open shows progressing to AQHA shows a few years later.

Grace and her husband Zeb have a daughter, Stephanie who is married and expecting her first child in December. Grace also has 2 step children and grandchildren.

She is a dental assistant in Cary, NC and has been with the same practice for 27 years. She enjoys running and spending time with her family.

Anyone that knows Grace will tell you she is a HUGE fan of the N.C. State women's basketball team. She was a good friend of the late Kay Yow and attends all of the home games with her sister Marie and many of the away games as well.

When she's not with her family or at a basketball game, you can find her at an AQHA show on her new horse, Sleepin in the Café (aka Tucker), competing in Select Amateur events. "Tucker's" laidback personality makes him fun to ride and show. Grace taught "Tucker" Showmanship herself but credits her trainers, Justin & Joy Wheeler with the rest of his training. She began the all around classes this year at the Martinganza and has accumulated circuit and all around awards and received her ROM. She has qualified for the 2010 Adequan Select World Championship Show in Showmanship and Equitation. She is most proud of her Select All Around win at the AQHA Region 10 Show which included a saddle.
