Hi Everyone,

I am honored to be representing the NCAQHA as their president for 2008. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with such a talented group of people. I look forward to meeting many new people this year and also having a lot of fun. I recently held a conference call with the board members to discuss our role in assisting with the District IV/Amateur show as well as the five all—novice shows.  Please see the summary of our call below.  We welcome all NCQHA members to donate prizes for this show. If you have something that you would like to donate (horse-related or not), please contact either me or one of the Amateur board members. I look forward to seeing everyone at the shows. Be safe and have fun.

Thanks,
Cherie Webber

Programs/Fundraisers

1. Southern States Fundraiser:

  • Help support the Amateur Association’s fund-raising drive by participating in the Southern States feed program. It is as easy as sending the “Proof of Purchase” coupons off of the back of the feedbags (i.e. Reliance or Legend feeds) or the ORIGINAL bulk bag delivery tickets. Please send them to: Betsy Wetherall 6145 Kernersville Rd. Belews Creek, NC 27009
  • If you have any questions, contact Betsy at Bbw1728@aol.com

2. Mentoring Program

  • The Amateur Association is kicking off their Mentoring Program. We look forward to welcoming new members at the horse shows through this program. It will include a "buddy" to help you get acquainted with all the little details you may forget-such as stall reservations, how to get to the show, how to register, etc. Also included will be a nice welcome bucket full of goodies! For more information, contact Susan Ratliff (336) 282-5235.

Back Number Reservation

Everyone has that special back number, the one you can't show without. Now you can rest assured that you and no one else will have that number at every NC show. No more rushing to the entry tent to secure your number! For $25, you can reserve your number for the entire show season! You will be provided with one set of three laminated show numbers. The money will be used by the NC Amateur Association to fund Amateur Awards at the Youth Show and Year End Awards.
